Can we change hyperscaler mid term?

Yes, but it is treated as a contract event and carries cost. Negotiate that flexibility into the contract at signing, or expect to pay for the change.

How is digital access measured under RISE?

Digital access is measured by the volume of inbound documents created in S/4HANA from external systems. Instrument every connected system to capture the realistic volume before contracting.

What is a realistic FUE reduction target?

25 to 30 percent against SAP's first calculation is achievable. The lever is bottom up user modelling, mapped to actual transaction frequency and module access.

What price escalator should we accept?

2.5 to 4 percent inflation indexed is the workable range. Anything above 4 percent should be treated as red and renegotiated.

How long does a RISE negotiation typically take?

Eight to twelve weeks of structured preparation is the difference between a controlled negotiation and a vendor led one. Compressed timelines favour SAP.

Are SAP's standard exit terms acceptable?

They are not unreasonable, but they are not customer favourable. Push for a longer data extraction window, hourly rate transition support, and step down early termination. All three are negotiable at signing.
