SAP Business AI Base has been included in RISE and S/4HANA Cloud since July 2025, with roughly 200 AI actions bundled per Advanced FUE. Premium Joule Agents and higher volume automation are a separately purchased add on that consumes AI Units, with overage near 0.08 to 0.18 dollars per action.

Why do Joule Agents cost so much more than the assistant?

An agentic Joule run draws AI Units 5 to 10 times faster than a single interactive Joule prompt because each autonomous task chains multiple model calls. The playbook shows how to scope agent autonomy so the multiplier does not compound unbudgeted.

What changes at a July 2026 SAP renewal?

Use based AI pricing becomes the default for SAP cloud renewals from July 2026. The playbook gives the clauses to negotiate the AI Unit conversion rate, the action allowance floor, and a consumption cap before that default locks in.
