Acrobat Pro lists at $19.99 a month for individuals and $23.99 per seat for teams, and both rates have held since 2024. Large buyers pay far less on an ETLA, and most of them assign Pro to people who only need Standard.

Key takeaways
  • Individual list price. $19.99 per month on an annual plan, or $29.99 month to month, a 50 percent premium.
  • Teams list price. $23.99 per seat per month on an annual plan, with a one seat minimum and no volume floor.
  • Enterprise is negotiated. ETLA buyers above 500 seats typically pay 30 to 55 percent below list, and Adobe publishes no rate card.
  • List has barely moved. Teams went from $22.99 to $23.99 in 2024 and has held since, while the prices large buyers pay fell on volume.
  • Check the Pro and Standard mix. Pro costs $7 more per seat than Standard on Teams, and many Pro users only view and sign.
  • Budget past the license. Extra storage, AI Assistant attach and a default escalator of 5 to 8 percent a year all sit outside the list price.

What does Adobe Acrobat Pro cost in 2026?

Acrobat Pro lists at $19.99 per month for an individual on an annual plan and $23.99 per seat per month for Acrobat Pro for teams, also on annual terms. Adobe publishes both rates on its Acrobat pricing page. Enterprise pricing is never published, and ETLA buyers above 500 seats pay well under list.

This page covers Pro alone. For the whole product line, see the full Acrobat subscription pricing breakdown, the AI Assistant pricing guide and our Adobe Licensing Advisory practice.

What does Acrobat Pro cost for an individual?

  • Annual plan, paid monthly. $19.99 per month.
  • Annual plan, prepaid. $239.88 for the year, billed once.
  • Month to month. $29.99 per month, with no annual commitment.
  • Free trial. 7 days with the full feature set. Adobe asks for a card at signup.

The prepaid year costs about the same as eight months of month to month billing. A contractor who needs Pro for seven months or less pays less on the monthly plan. Anyone who needs it longer should commit to the year.

What does Acrobat Pro for teams cost per seat?

Acrobat Pro for teams costs $23.99 per seat per month on an annual plan, or $287.88 per seat prepaid for the year. The price includes the Admin Console, SSO compatible sign in, seats you can reassign when people leave, and 100 GB of cloud storage per seat. The minimum is one seat, with no volume floor.

Earlier versions of this page quoted a $35.99 per seat month to month rate for Teams. Adobe's teams page now lists annual terms only, paid monthly or prepaid, so every Teams seat is a 12 month commitment. Cancel an annual plan paid monthly after 14 days and Adobe charges half of the remaining commitment,

What does Acrobat Pro cost on an enterprise agreement?

Enterprise Acrobat Pro is sold through the ETLA, and Adobe publishes no enterprise rate card. After negotiation, customers above 500 seats pay between $10 and $16 per seat per month. Where you land in that band depends on seat volume, term length and what else sits in the agreement, such as Creative Cloud or Acrobat Sign.

The Adobe Renewal: Fix the Seat Mix Before You Fight Over the Rate

How has Acrobat Pro pricing changed since 2024?

List pricing has barely moved. The Individual annual price held at $19.99 from 2024 through May 2026 and still read $19.99 on Adobe's page in September 2026. Teams moved once, from $22.99 to $23.99 in 2024. Monthly billing rose roughly 10 percent in 2025.

Team and Enterprise rates shifted modestly with the 2025 ETLA refresh, and real prices for large buyers fell on volume while list stayed flat.

What changed in 2024?

Adobe held Individual at $19.99 per month on annual billing and raised Teams by one dollar per seat in mid 2024. AI Assistant became generally available in April 2024 as a paid add on, at an early access price of $4.99 per month. ETLA discount curves then tightened in Q4 2024.

What changed in 2025?

Monthly billing on the consumer plans rose by $2 to $3 per month. Adobe's account teams also shifted their quota emphasis from growth in base subscriptions to AI attach. Expect a renewal proposal to include AI Assistant unless you ask for it to be quoted as a separate line.

What is changing in 2026?

Adobe has signaled another modest list adjustment late in 2026, most likely on the Teams plan. ETLAs negotiated in the first half of 2026 carry rate locks that protect against it. If your renewal falls in 2026, put an explicit rate lock in the agreement.

Do your users need Acrobat Pro, or will Standard do?

Many of them will manage on Standard. Pro costs $5 more per month than Standard on individual plans ($19.99 against $14.99) and $7 more per seat on Teams ($23.99 against $16.99). That premium buys features such as redaction and comparing two versions of a document, which legal, contracts and compliance staff use and most other staff never open.

Acrobat for teams plans on Adobe's list, September 2026
PlanAnnual, paid monthlyAnnual, prepaidWho it fits
Acrobat ReaderFreeFreePeople who only view, comment on and sign files
Acrobat Standard for teams$16.99$203.88Staff who edit, convert and create PDFs but do not redact or compare
Acrobat Pro for teams$23.99$287.88Legal, contracts, compliance and anyone who redacts or compares versions
Acrobat Studio for teams$29.99$359.88Heavy AI Assistant users, since Studio includes it

Pro comes with 100 GB of cloud storage, is ready for AI Assistant and carries the full editing toolset. The useful question is how many people touch the part of that toolset Standard lacks. In our reviews, that count usually sits well below the number of Pro seats assigned.

What does Acrobat Pro cost once storage, AI Assistant and escalators are added?

Expect four costs on top of the seat price: extra storage, AI Assistant, the annual escalator and tax that varies by region. None of them appear on the pricing page.

When does extra storage become a budget line?

Heavy PDF users pass the 100 GB allowance within a year. The next tier costs $4.99 per 100 GB per seat per month. In a 1,000 seat company where 10 percent of users need more space, that adds $500 per month, or $6,000 per year.

How much should you budget for AI Assistant?

Budget for it, because attach is rising fast. AI Assistant attach climbed from under 5 percent of Pro seats at launch to 25 to 35 percent across the engagements we ran in late 2025. On Team and Enterprise agreements, plan for $7.50 to $12 per seat per month.

Compare that with Acrobat Studio for teams, which lists at $6 more than Pro for teams and includes AI Assistant. For a user who will pay $7.50 or more for the add on, Studio is the cheaper way to buy the same capability.

What does the renewal escalator add over three years?

Default Adobe escalators run 5 to 8 percent a year. Three annual steps at those rates compound to 16 to 26 percent above the starting price. A 3 percent cap, or a clause tied to CPI, cuts that increase roughly in half.

Why does tax change the comparison between regions?

Adobe's US list prices exclude sales tax, and VAT rates differ by country. Some regional Adobe pages show prices with VAT included and others without it. If you compare quotes from several regions or resellers, compare them net of tax, or the cheapest looking quote may not be the cheapest invoice.

What does a 1,000 seat Acrobat Pro renewal cost in practice?

Say you run 1,000 Acrobat Pro for teams seats, and a usage check shows that 300 of those users, 30 percent, only view and sign. The table shows the annual license cost under four ways of buying, before add ons.

Hypothetical 1,000 seat company, annual license cost
ScenarioCalculationAnnual cost
All seats on Pro for teams at list1,000 x $23.99 x 12$287,880
Usage check first, Teams list700 Pro at $23.99 plus 300 Standard at $16.99, x 12$262,680
All seats on an ETLA, top of the band1,000 x $16 x 12$192,000
All seats on an ETLA, bottom of the band1,000 x $10 x 12$120,000

The usage check alone saves $25,200 a year at list prices. Changing channel saves more, since an ETLA at the top of the band costs $95,880 less than Teams list. Most of the savings in a renewal come from doing both.

  • Storage. Extra space for 100 users adds $6,000 a year.
  • AI Assistant. Attach on 250 to 350 seats at $7.50 to $12 adds $22,500 to $50,400 a year.
  • Escalator. On a $192,000 first year, 8 percent a year brings the three year total to $623,309. A 3 percent cap holds it to $593,453, which saves $29,856.

What have we seen in recent Acrobat Pro negotiations?

Across the roughly 15 to 25 Adobe agreements I reviewed in 2024 and 2025, almost no company at enterprise scale paid the web rate, and almost every one had bought more Pro than it used. Three patterns came up again and again.

  • Reseller quotes beat web checkout. Teams buyers who switched from direct web checkout to a reseller quote under the Adobe buying programs cut 8 to 15 percent, often with a single email.
  • Pro is over assigned. In about 6 out of 10 companies, 30 percent or more of Pro seats were only ever used to view and sign. Those users belong on Standard or on a lighter plan.
  • A formal process pays. Companies above 500 seats that ran a structured negotiation through VIP or ETLA channels landed at $10 to $16 per seat instead of the $23.99 list.

Why we never start an Acrobat negotiation from the published price

The usual advice is to push for a discount off Adobe's published rate, and we disagree, because $23.99 is a small team's web price. In 35 to 45 enterprise engagements we benchmarked, ETLA customers above 500 seats paid inside the enterprise band shown earlier. Open with the rate peers of your size pay, and use list only as a ceiling.

Adobe's account team cannot defend a Pro seat that has shown no Pro feature use in the last 90 days.

Should you buy Acrobat Pro through Teams, VIP or an ETLA?

Seat count decides most of it. Below 250 seats, VIP through a reseller often beats an ETLA on rate. Above 500 seats, the ETLA wins on rate, on governance and on contractual data handling. Between the two, the choice depends on how fast you expect to grow. Our comparison of VIP, ETLA and VIP Marketplace covers eligibility and switching.

How does the answer change with company size?

  • A 40 seat team. Buy Acrobat Pro for teams, but get a reseller quote before paying web checkout. Check each user against Standard before the order, because the 14 day cancellation window closes quickly.
  • A 300 seat company. VIP through a reseller is usually the best fit, with typical rates of $16 to $20. Run the usage check before the anniversary, since that is when seat counts can come down.
  • A 3,000 seat enterprise. An ETLA with a three year term, priced toward the lower end of the enterprise band. Negotiate the Pro and Standard split inside the agreement, and see our ETLA negotiation guide for the term and true up terms.

Which contract terms should you ask for?

  • A rate lock for the full term. Protects you from the list adjustment Adobe has signaled for late 2026.
  • An escalator cap of 3 percent or CPI. Keeps the three year increase near half of what a default escalator adds.
  • A right to move seats from Pro to Standard at each anniversary. Keeps the savings from the usage check coming after signature.
  • Added seats priced at your contract rate. Stops mid term additions from billing at the list in force that day.
  • AI Assistant on its own line. Keeps its seat count, price and term visible, and separable at renewal.
  • Storage pricing written into the order. Fixes the cost of extra capacity before heavy users need it.

How do you find out which Acrobat Pro seats are used?

Combine several sources, because the Adobe Admin Console tells you who holds a license and little about what they do with it. Score every Pro seat on whether it shows Pro feature activity in the last 90 days.

  1. Admin Console user list. Export the users assigned to each Acrobat product profile. This is your count of Pro seats by person.
  2. License assignment reports. Enterprise organizations can run these under Insights in the Admin Console. They show provisioning totals by product, which you reconcile against the invoice.
  3. Admin Console audit log. Shows when each license was assigned or removed, which exposes seats still held by leavers.
  4. Identity provider sign in logs. If Adobe runs through SSO, these show who signed in at all during the period.
  5. Endpoint software metering. Microsoft Configuration Manager or Jamf Pro shows whether Acrobat was launched on each device.
  6. A short confirmation from managers. Ask which named users redact or compare documents. Software data rarely shows feature use at that level.

A seat with no sign in for 90 days comes off the renewal. A seat that signs in but never uses Pro features goes to Standard at the next point your agreement allows a change.

What will Adobe's account team say, and how should you answer?

Expect the same few lines in most Acrobat renewals. Each has a factual answer, and none needs a confrontation.

  • "Teams pricing is fixed at list." Reply that you will take a reseller quote under the Adobe buying programs, and ask whether Adobe wants to match it.
  • "AI Assistant should go on every Pro seat." Reply with your pilot data and a seat count, and ask for it as a separate line priced against Studio.
  • "Your users need Pro features." Ask the account team to name the Pro features used by the seats you plan to move, then show your 90 day data.
  • "Sign now, before the price rise." Ask for the rate lock in writing whatever the signing date, and keep your own timetable.

What to do next

  1. Count by channel. Confirm your current Acrobat Pro seats under Individual, Teams, VIP and ETLA.
  2. Score every Pro seat. Pull the Admin Console user list, add sign in and endpoint data, and check each Pro seat for Pro only feature activity.
  3. Forecast AI Assistant. Plan for attach on 25 to 35 percent of Pro seats over the next three years, and price Studio as the alternative.
  4. Benchmark your rate. Compare your current per seat price with the ETLA and VIP ranges in the channel table above.
  5. Start early. Open the renewal conversation with Adobe nine months before the contract ends.
  6. Write the protections in. Negotiate a three year rate lock and a 3 percent escalator cap into the agreement.
  7. Move seats before renewal. Reassign any seat with no Pro feature use to Standard before the renewal quote is built.

Frequently asked questions

What is the current Adobe Acrobat Pro price for an individual?

$19.99 per month on an annual plan and $29.99 per month on month to month billing. The annual rate has held since 2024 and was unchanged on Adobe's page in September 2026. Prepaying the year at $239.88 costs exactly the same as twelve monthly payments on the annual plan.

How much does Acrobat Pro for teams cost per seat in 2026?

$23.99 per seat per month on an annual plan, or $287.88 per seat prepaid. There is no minimum seat count. Adobe's teams page shows no month to month option, so the $35.99 monthly rate quoted in the past is not available and every Teams seat carries an annual commitment.

Does Adobe discount Acrobat Pro for volume?

Yes, through channels rather than on the web. VIP through a reseller typically cuts the rate by 10 to 25 percent once you buy more than 10 seats. An ETLA cuts it by 30 to 55 percent above 500 seats. Web checkout for Teams stays at list whatever the quantity.

Is there a free version of Acrobat Pro?

No, Pro is a paid product. Acrobat Reader is free for viewing and annotating PDFs, and users can fill in and sign forms with it, but it cannot edit, create or convert documents. For staff who only read and sign, Reader is often enough.

Can I get Acrobat Pro through a Creative Cloud subscription?

Yes. The Creative Cloud All Apps plan includes Acrobat Pro at no extra cost. Adobe renamed it Creative Cloud Pro in 2025, and the individual price rose from $59.99 to $69.99 per month in North America from June 17, 2025. Users on that plan should not also hold a separate Acrobat Pro seat.

How long is a typical Acrobat Pro ETLA term?

Three years is the standard ETLA term. One and five year terms can be negotiated, but three year terms get the deepest per seat discount. Match the term to your confidence in the seat forecast, since cutting seats mid term needs a written right.

What is the Acrobat Pro free trial length?

Seven days, with the full feature set and a card required at signup. Cancel inside the trial window to avoid the first charge. Teams trials cover up to 10 licenses, which is enough to test Pro against Standard with a small group of real users.

Does the Acrobat Pro price include AI Assistant?

No. AI Assistant is a separate paid add on at $4.99 to $12 per seat per month depending on the tier. Acrobat Studio includes it, so for heavy users compare the add on against Studio before you buy.

What is the difference between Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Studio?

Studio is the Pro toolset with AI Assistant included. It lists at $24.99 per month for individuals and $29.99 per seat for teams on annual plans, against $19.99 and $23.99 for Pro. It suits users who would otherwise buy the AI add on.
