What a good ServiceNow number looks like at your spend band

ServiceNow does not price to your negotiation skill, it prices to your band. This brief sets the reachable discount, uplift cap and Assist unit rate at 500K, 2M and 5M ACV, and shows what to demand instead of discount once you cross the top threshold.

What you will take away
  • Discount depth is banded, not earned. A 38 percent median across enterprise deals hides a spread where 500K buyers realistically reach the low to mid 30s and multi-workflow buyers above 5M ACV reach the 50 to 60 percent range on core lines.
  • The April 2026 reset to Foundation, Advanced and Prime is a repricing event disguised as simplification. Change, Problem, Major Incident and Process Mining now sit at Advanced or above, so a same-scope renewal is a tier upgrade with a 0 to 15 percent attached increase.
  • Headline discount on an inflated baseline is not a saving. Benchmarked renewal work found the money sat in persona mix, edition mix and attach, producing a 30 percent median reduction before a single discount point was discussed.
  • AI does not discount like software. Average achievable Now Assist reduction sits near 24 percent, and 72 percent of customers buy it with no ROI framework, which is why the assist top-up rate matters more than the bundle headline.
  • Above roughly 5M ACV, discount stops being the lever. Uplift caps at 3 to 5 percent, multi-year price holds, assist pool carryover and swap rights are worth more than the last four points of discount.
